The Security, Privacy, Identity, Trust, Engagement NetworkPlus celebrated its official launch at the end of November 2019. An evening reception in Manchester’s spectacular Whitworth Art Gallery was followed by a two day meeting of 75 of SPRITE+’s Expert Fellows and stakeholders to debate future challenges of trust, identity, privacy and security in the digital economy.
Meeting other Expert Fellows was very useful, especially those from other disciplines who I would not have typically come to know otherwise
At our first annual Expert Fellows meeting, we engaged in a series of workshops and some lively debate, to settle on four broad Challenge Themes. These in turn will help create Challenge Working Groups (CWGs) which will scope, refine and explore the themes over the next two years.
The themes we ended up with were good quality including the ideas that were called out before
The event received positive feedback from the participants, citing networking, facilitation, and the ability to talk to the stakeholder panel as the most valuable parts of the meeting. The majority of feedback respondents made new connections during the Expert Fellows Meeting that they would not have otherwise made.
The panel of non-academic participants made a strong contribution
