The workshop is especially suited to researchers in academia, industry, and public sector specialising in IoT, network security, privacy-enhancing technologies, user interface design, law, and policy.

The workshop requires you to brainstorm and apply design thinking to different scenarios with other researchers you may not know. The aim is to chart out some of the challenges in this space and come up with initial ideas of design solutions that may underpin future collaborative opportunities.

The workshop will start on 13 Sep 2021, 09:30-17:00 BST.

Participate in a small study, part of Horizon’s TANSEC project funded through PETRAS, which investigates whether fixtures and items in the home might be used to help authenticate users to perform privileged tasks on their devices and networks.

In this session, professor Carsten Maple will focus on the challenges of privacy, ethics, and trust and will explore how new methods are emerging to address these challenges. Primarily focussing on the example of intelligent transport systems, this session will be useful for anyone interested in autonomous systems and cybersecurity.

SPRITE+ Accountability and Ethics in a Digital Ecosystem Challenge Working Group invites you to participate in a survey aimed at exploring the drivers, practices, and anticipated outcomes of data governance. It is intended for Data/Information/Cyber Security Officers, Data Governance and Strategy Officers, and others who have a role in mitigating the risks arising from the capture, storage and use of an organisation's data assets.

The spotlight today is on Irini Katsirea – Reader in International Media Law at the University of Sheffield, and a SPRITE+ member.

We are seeking new Fellows to join a diverse group of experts, each bringing deep expertise and creative thinking to SPRITE+ activities, and together providing a broad, challenging and informed range of viewpoints on TIPS in digital contexts.

We are offering logistical support to help organise the activity and will make available up to £5,000 of funding per activity to cover associated costs (e.g., travel, materials, professional facilitation/online production costs, data access).

We regularly collate PhD studentships, academic positions, and other opportunities related to digital TIPS.

This month's round up includes Research Associate roles in AI-related topics, lectureships in computer science and data science, Assistant Professor role in Data-driven Security, and more - over a dozen opportunities in total!
